I was looking for a new title for this blog... I've been having a creative block as of late, and I turned to my trusty friend Google! So, as I was Google-ing idioms in hopes of something witty, I came across a film terminology website, and I've always been a fan of vocabulary. On a "Television Tropes & Idioms" site, I saw Gaussian Girl, and winner winner chicken dinner!
According to that site, it refers to....
An especially common creature in The Sixties, the Gaussian Girl is distinguishable by her supernatural blurriness and the soft, romantic music accompanying her.
When filmed, the Gaussian Girl is shot through a soft-focus filter, a piece of translucent plastic or a quick smear of Vaseline, depending on the director's preference. This gives a soft, glowing aura to her, and smooths out any unappealing pores or lines on her face. The result makes her look nothing short of ethereal.

Sounds pretty darn pretty right? I've always loved the gaussian look in my photography work. There we have it, the new title. I like to think of it as a look I aspire to acheive in my work.
